Bite-Sized
Created over the course of 100 days, the Bite-Sized series explores my anxiety around eating during the first months of the COVID-19 pandemic. During that time, I found myself craving snacks from my childhood because of the nostalgia and comfort that I was seeking during isolation. Each day, I completed one drawing of a treat in the midst of being consumed. The pieces are displayed in sets to show the passage of time and function as a type of journal while the small scale, use of colored pencil, and simplicity of the compositions brings a quiet, intimate, and delicate feeling to the work. This series documents my experience to reconnect with my appetite and sense of self in a time of uncertainty through one small act every day.
